How to remove TikTok reposts but keep the ones from certain creators
A common way to remove TikTok reposts: everything goes, except reposts of a friend's videos, your own side account, or two or three creators you still care about. TikTok has no setting for that. It is still very doable.
TikTok cannot filter reposts by creator. By hand, you skip those creators' videos as you go. In an app with author filters, such as Repostless, you choose the creators to keep and everything else is marked for removal - or the reverse, remove only certain creators.
Why this is awkward in TikTok
The repost tab is a grid of thumbnails ordered by when you reposted. It has no search and no grouping by creator, and removing a repost is a one-video action. So "everything except these creators" means looking at each video, recognising who made it, and deciding - hundreds of times on a big tab. TikTok also documents no way to hide some reposts and show others: a private account limits who sees all of them.
By hand: skip as you go
Write down the creators you want to keep. Then work through the tab, open each video, and remove it unless the creator is on your list - the three ways to remove one are in how to delete a repost on TikTok.
It costs nothing, and under a hundred or so reposts it is quick enough that installing anything is not worth it. The weak spot is attention: thumbnails do not show who posted them, and after a hundred removals it is easy to take out the one you meant to keep. Removal cannot be undone inside TikTok, so on a long tab, slow down near the creators you care about.
With an author filter
An app that has already read your whole tab knows the creator of every repost, so it can do the recognising for you. There are two useful modes:

How to do it in Repostless

Can you filter TikTok reposts by creator?
