An Edge extension for TikTok reposts
Repostless does not publish a Microsoft Edge extension. Nothing about it is available to download today, and we would rather say that on the page than sell you a waiting list dressed up as a product.
Edge runs Chrome extensions, so most tools in this category reach Edge users one of two ways: a listing in the Edge Add-ons store, or the Chrome Web Store with Edge set to allow extensions from other stores. Repostless publishes neither — it is being built as an iPhone app.
Two ways an extension reaches Edge
- An Edge Add-ons listing. Reviewed by Microsoft, updated separately from the Chrome version. It can lag the Chrome build by weeks.
- Installed from the Chrome Web Store. Edge allows this after you turn the option on. It works, and it also means the extension you install is not the one Microsoft reviewed.
Neither is better in itself. The difference matters only when the versions drift apart — a stale listing is a real thing in this category, because these tools break whenever TikTok changes its markup.
What the permission prompt is telling you
A repost remover has to read and change pages on tiktok.com, because clicking the page is the whole mechanism. That request is expected. A request for every site you visit is not, and no part of this job requires your TikTok password.
Five questions to ask of any tool you do install
This applies to every repost remover on every platform, ours included once it exists.
- Does it ask for your TikTok password? A tool that works inside your own signed-in session never needs it. If it wants your credentials, a server somewhere logs in as you.
- Where does the removal actually happen? On your device, or on the vendor's machines?
- Does it pace itself? Hundreds of instant actions look like automated spam. Raw speed in the marketing copy is risk in disguise.
- Does it keep a record? TikTok has no undo. A list of what was removed is the only way to put anything back.
- Can you stop it halfway? Pause, resume and cancel, without losing track of progress.
