How to delete a repost on TikTok
Removing one repost takes about three taps. TikTok documents three different ways to get there, and which one is fastest depends on where you are standing when you decide.
Open the reposted video, tap Share, then tap Remove repost. Pressing and holding on the video, or tapping your own photo on it and choosing Reposted, gets you to the same option.
From the video itself
- Open the reposted video.
- Tap Share.
- Tap Remove repost.
This is the route most people know, because it is the same sheet you used to repost in the first place.
By pressing and holding
- Press and hold on the video.
- Tap Remove repost in the menu that appears.
Fewer taps, and it works without opening the share sheet.
From your own avatar on the video
- Tap your profile photo where it appears on the reposted video.
- Select Reposted.
- Tap Remove repost.
Useful when you spot your own repost in a feed rather than on your profile.
TikTok's Help Center is written for the mobile app and says nothing about tiktok.com in a browser. Some third-party guides describe a repost tab and a remove control on the desktop site; we could not confirm that from any TikTok source, so we are not printing steps we have not verified.
What happens after you remove one
- The video leaves your repost tab. The original stays exactly where it was on the creator's profile — you are undoing your share, not deleting their video.
- Removing a repost is not the same as unliking or unfollowing. Those are separate actions and are untouched.
- TikTok does not document whether the creator is notified, either when you repost or when you remove one. Plenty of articles assert confidently that nobody is told; we have not found a TikTok source that says so. What is and is not known.
- The list can take a moment to catch up. If the video still looks like it is there, leave the tab and come back.

If you have ten or twenty to clear, work from the repost tab rather than from your feed: open your profile, open the repost tab, open the first video, remove it, go back. The list re-flows after each removal, which is the part that makes this slower than it sounds — expect roughly ten seconds per video once the scrolling is counted in.
Past a hundred or so, the per-video route stops being reasonable, which is the whole subject of deleting all your reposts at once.

After it is gone
The video leaves your repost tab, and stops being pushed to your followers under your name. It is not deleted for anyone else, and it is not reversible from inside TikTok: if you want it back, you find the original and repost it again by hand, and it returns to the top of your tab rather than to its old position.
Questions people ask about this
Does the creator know I removed their repost?
TikTok does not document a notification for reposting or for removing a repost. Articles that state confidently that nobody is told are guessing; so would we be if we agreed. What is documented is that while the repost is up, it carries your name and photo.
The Remove repost option is not there. Now what?

Does removing a repost also unlike the video?
No. Likes, follows and reposts are three separate actions. Removing one leaves the other two exactly as they were.
Can I remove someone else's repost of my video?
No. A repost belongs to the account that made it. You control your own uploads and your own reposts, and nothing beyond that.
