TikTok does not document a notification for reposting or for removing a repost. That is not the same as “nobody is told,” and anyone who says otherwise is guessing. What is documented: while a repost is up, it carries your name and photo.
What TikTok does document
A repost is shown to some of your followers and community in their feeds, labelled with your photo and nickname, and it sits on the repost tab of your profile. If your account is private, only your followers see it. That is what the TikTok Help Center describes.
It does not describe a notification for the creator when you repost, and it does not describe one when you remove a repost. The notifications help pages do not list one either.
What that implies
“Not documented” is not the same as “nobody is told.” It means we cannot tell you either way from TikTok's own material. The part you can rely on is the visible footprint: while a repost is up, other people can see it under your name and photo, whether or not a notification exists.
What we could not establish
No TikTok source we found describes repost notifications at all, and we have not run a two-account test ourselves. Plenty of sites state flatly that creators are not notified. Treat that as an untested claim unless the page says how and when it tested it.
