How to unrepost on TikTok
"Unrepost" is what people search for. TikTok itself calls the action Remove repost — same thing, different label. If you are looking for an Unrepost button, that is why you cannot find one.
"Unrepost" is what TikTok calls Remove repost: Share > Remove repost. It removes your share only — the creator's video, your like and your follow all stay as they were.
The action, in three taps
Open the video you reposted, tap Share, then tap Remove repost. Press-and-hold on the video gets you to the same option, and so does tapping your own profile photo on the video and choosing Reposted. All three are documented by TikTok; pick whichever is closest to hand.
What unreposting changes
- It removes your share. The video comes off your repost tab and stops being pushed to your followers' feeds under your name.
- It does not delete the video. The creator's post is untouched. You have no power over someone else's upload, and that is by design.
- It does not unlike or unfollow. If you also liked the video or followed the account, those stay as they were.
- It is not reversible from inside TikTok. You can repost the video again by hand if you find it, but there is no undo button.

No, and the difference matters. Unreposting removes your share. Deleting removes an upload, and you can only delete your own uploads. You have no power over someone else's video.
I reposted by accident. How fast do I need to be?
There is no window to beat — you can remove a repost at any time. The sooner you do it the fewer people see it in their feed, but nothing expires and nothing locks.
Can I repost the same video again later?
Yes, as long as the original still exists. It comes back as a new repost at the top of your tab, not in its old position.
Does unreposting affect the creator's view count?
TikTok does not document what happens to metrics when a repost is removed, so we are not going to tell you. What is documented is that the creator's video itself is untouched.
